ABSENT: none

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m., Jim Bridges presiding.  The meeting was held at the home of Michele Griffin.

The minutes of the September 5, 2006 meeting were approved as distributed.

Warren Marsland distributed the treasurerÕs report which showed a cash balance of $6,032.36 and fixed assets of $6,874.11.  The 299er Sectional had a loss of $299 which will be reimbursed by Unit 112.  The Fall Sectional had a profit of $686.05 and the Summer Sectional made $986.88.  Other Events showed a loss of $520.13 and the web site had expenses of $38.76.  Sectional table counts were discussed briefly; they have been declining over the last three years.  Dick Folwell suggested that a task force review marketing ideas that may reverse that trend.  Dick, Liz Meacham and Sue Barocas agreed to serve.

Officers for 2006 Ð 2007 were elected:

                        President                                    Alex Booke

                        Vice President                             Margie Spence

                        Secretary                                    Gerry Ride

                        Treasurer                                    Warren Marsland

Executive member at large             Jim Bridges

The slate was approved unanimously.

The use of the Duplimate Machine which had recently been purchased was discussed.  The feedback has been both positive and negative.  Alex agreed to write an article discussing its use for the next newsletter.  We currently own ten sets of boards and would need a maximum of 17 sets in order to provide boards for each club to use while having to generate hands only once per week.  We currently own a copier and need a laptop computer and a cabinet to store the equipment.

The RABA Open Pairs Championship will be held at the Green Lantern on Sunday, October 22.  Certificates will be presented to winners of RABA events over the last year and the Annual Meeting will be held.

In order to select the Goodwill Player of the Year nominations were made by the members present.  Suzy Hill, Betty Ann Schmitz, Bill McCoy, Sally Hill, Lew Allen, Bob Cannizzaro, Sandy Howe, Lin Yeates, Yashu Maitra, Janet Flanagan and Dick Wilson.  Sally Hill was selected as the winner.

Under New Business Alex asked about the telephone directory of RABA members that is published every two years.  Bruce Toder has prepared it in the past but has declined to do so this year.  Alex agreed to talk with him to learn the procedure.  Lois Sanders can provide access to the database of members.

Annette Barnard asked about the location of Regional and Sectional Tournaments in Rochester.  Several sites have been reviewed in the past.  Jim Bridges agreed to send the list of criteria to current Board members.

Respectfully submitted,
