Minutes of RABA Board Meeting

December 15, 2008

Present: B. Rudner, G. Ride, W. Marsland, P. McFadden, L. Fox, S. Barocas, L. Sanders, P. Clark, R. Rosenthal, M. Spence

Absent: L. Meacham, B. Bardeschewski 

The meeting was called to order by President Barry at 4:35 PM

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as read.

Committees were discussed

Margie Spence will be in charge of awards 

Sue Barocas will be in charge of 299er publicity

Barry will look for volunteers to chair the other committees and report back to the board

The Spring Sectional will be held 3/27/09-3/29/09 at Lakeville - Warren will chair this sectional and Sue Barocas will be the co-chair

The Fall Sectional will be held 10/2/09-10/4/09 - Barry will chair this sectional at a site to be determined.

RABA events were discussed:

- Warren moved and Peg Clark seconded to eliminate the mens/womans open pairs -

motion passed

- A one session open pairs and a 299er open pairs will be held Thursday, January 22,

2009, at local clubs

- A LM/NLM will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at local clubs

(Each of these two events would cost $1.50 plus the normal local club cost.

This $1.50 will go to RABA. There will be no buffet included with these events.)

- There will be a two-session Swiss Team event in October at a site to be determined

Lois will be the "official" announcer for RABA events since she is at most of the games.

Next board meeting: 2/16/08 at Temple B'rith Kodesh at 4:30 p.m.

Meeting adjourned at 6:02 pm.
